Client Relations & Contracts Executive
About the role
Purpose
Handles the client's written commercial correspondence and the conversations where money, terms or timescales are being agreed.
What the role does
• Drafts quotations, proposals, tender responses and formal client letters in British English.
• Negotiates payment arrangements, renewal terms and supplier pricing within a set mandate.
• Administers the contract file — renewal dates, variations, expiry notices, signature routing.
• Owns written escalations and complaint responses through to resolution.
• Keeps the client's document templates current and consistent.
• Records every commitment made, so nothing agreed on a call goes unwritten.
Essential
• Degree in business, law, English, communications or a related discipline.
• Three years in a commercial, procurement, credit control, bid or client management role.
• Written British English of a standard that can go to a client unedited.
• Demonstrable negotiation outcomes the candidate can talk through — what was asked, what was conceded, what was held.
• Comfortable with Word, Excel, PDF tools and a CRM or contract register.
• Keeps composure with a difficult counterparty.
Desirable
• Exposure to UK contract terms or English-law agreements.
• Bid or tender writing against a formal specification.
• Credit control or debt recovery experience.
• CIPS, IoSCM or a recognised negotiation qualification.
