Data & Marketing Analyst
About the role
Purpose
Turns the client's raw operating and campaign data into reporting that says what happened, why, and what to do next.
What the role does
• Builds and maintains the client's recurring dashboards and management reports.
• Cleans and joins data from CRM, billing, web analytics and advertising platforms.
• Analyses campaign performance — cost per lead, conversion, channel mix, return on spend.
• Investigates variances and anomalies rather than just reporting them.
• Writes a short, plain-English commentary with every report — the finding, the cause, the recommendation.
• Runs ad-hoc analysis on request and states clearly what the data can and cannot support.
Essential
• Degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, data science, marketing or a related discipline.
• Two years in an analytical role.
• Advanced Excel — pivots, lookups, statistical functions, charting.
• SQL to the level of joins, aggregation and window functions.
• One business intelligence tool — Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio or similar.
• Able to argue a conclusion in writing and defend it when challenged.
Desirable
• Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Meta Ads reporting.
• Python or R for data preparation.
• Attribution modelling or A/B test analysis.
Google Analytics or Power BI certification
